Our Water Saving Tips
Our water is running out. With a growing population and the effects of climate change the UK is set to require an extra 3.4 billion litres of water per day by 2050.
As water scarcity is becoming an alarming issue for us all, we have a duty to decrease our water footprint. But first, it is important to understand how we use water in our homes and businesses. Water consumption in business settings is more difficult to measure as usage can vary by sector. For example, food producers and manufactures are more likely to have a bigger water footprint than a retailer. In the home, the average person uses approximately 143 litres per day on a range of activities from showering to washing machines. Our handy table below shows how water is used in our homes.
